Don't miss the meat this football season! Whip up these tasty Vegan Garlic Parmesan Cauliflower Wings for a plant-based way to fulfill all those crispy, crunchy cravings.
Happy Tuesday, friends! As you may know, the Super Bowl is this Sunday which means this week we are all about #FootballFood! Today, I am sharing these delicious Vegan Garlic Parmesan Cauliflower Wings, which are crispy, garlicky, and totally addicting! The whole point of me making vegan food is to create healthier plant-based options for foods that I already love. I know buffalo cauliflower wings are more traditional, but I have never been a huge fan of spicy buffalo chicken wings, so why make something I don't like? Garlic parmesan wings have always been my favorite {and actually I have a chicken version on the blog from a few years back}, and this cauliflower version is just as delicious as the original!
I have to confess that these garlic parmesan cauliflower wings may be my new all-time favorite snack! They are irresistibly crunchy and light, and packed with so much flavor. You probably won't fool anyone into thinking this is chicken, but the inside is surprisingly meaty and delicious! If you know me, you know I am a total garlic fiend. I add extra garlic and garlic salt to pretty much everything, so it's no surprise that I love these so much! I used garlic powder in the breading and the sauce, and used about 4 microplaned garlic cloves in the sauce as well to really pack a punch. These are indeed vegan, so in case you're wondering where the parmesan comes from... it's nutritional yeast! This is one of my favorite ingredients since I've been trying to cut out dairy. It definitely takes some getting used to, but I have grown to love it to add a cheesy taste to my foods in lieu of the real stuff.
Time for a {funny} fun fact - I have no interest in football whatsoever, and most years I have had to Google when the Super Bowl, or the start of football season was, just for blogging purposes. However... I have somehow been picked for tons of tailgating season projects over the years and have created quite the repertoire of football snacks! The shining crown jewel of my blogging career thus far is this 5-Ingredient White Queso which went super-viral on Pinterest and is still going strong three years later! Not far behind in my most-popular-ever recipes list is its sister, the 6-Ingredient Classic Yellow Queso. Don't underestimate the cheese dip, y'all. People take their tailgating snacks very seriously!

Make it vegetarian!
- For the batter, you can sub the nondairy milk with dairy milk, or milk mixed with a couple of eggs.
- Substitute the nutritional yeast for parmesan cheese!
- Use melted unsalted dairy butter instead of the vegan butter.
vegan garlic parmesan cauliflower wings
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower
- *for the batter*
- ½ cup all purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened plain nondairy milk
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning blend
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoon nutritional yeast
- 2 cups Italian-seasoning Panko breadcrumbs
- *for the garlic sauce*
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoon melted vegan butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3-4 fresh garlic cloves
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon dry parsley
Instructions
- First, preheat the oven to 450F and line a baking sheet with parchment or a silicone mat.
- Next, cut the cauliflower into small florets, rinse well, and dry.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, nondairy milk, and all the seasonings. Batter should be thick but not glue-y.
- In a separate shallow bowl, place the Panko breadcrumbs.
- Dip each piece of cauliflower in the batter, dripping off the excess, then roll around in the Panko and place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with all.
- Bake cauliflower wings for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
- While cauliflower bakes, prepare the garlic sauce. In a large bowl, combine the melted vegan butter, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and parsley. Add in the fresh garlic {I find that using a microplane to grate it finely works best} and mix it all together.
- When the cauliflower is cooked, toss it in the prepared garlic sauce, then place back on baking sheet and bake for another 5-6 minutes.
- Serve immediately with ranch for dipping!
