This Vanilla & Spice Hot Mulled Wine is so simple to make, and perfect for entertaining guests this holiday season! You just need some wine, spices, and fresh fruit!
Happy Wednesday, friends! #ChristmasSweetsWeek continues today, and I have a super simple, delicious recipe for you. This Vanilla & Spice Hot Mulled Wine is warm, comforting, and the perfect drink for entertaining a crowd this holiday season! All you need is some strong red wine {the forgotten bottle in the back of your fridge is perfect}, fresh oranges and apples, a bunch of cozy spices, and Torani vanilla syrup. Just toss it all in a big pot, and let it simmer away until you're ready to drink. So easy!
You guys know sponsors are a vital part to our fun themed weeks, and today's contributors are Torani and JoyJolt! Like I mentioned, I used the Torani vanilla syrup in lieu of the traditional sugar or honey. It works perfectly to add some sweetness and a subtle vanilla flavor to my mulled wine! JoyJolt then provided these adorable Declan double-walled glasses for serving. They only hold about 5 ounces so they're small and perfect for a little drink you can sip throughout the night! If you want to buy these cute cups for yourself {or anything else from JoyJolt}, you can have 25% off any purchase with the code Sweets25. How sweet is that!
Don't forget the reason for the season... or well, the reason for the week 😉 the GIVEAWAY! I will add the Rafflecopter to the bottom of this post so you can enter, but refer back to Monday's post for all the prize details! And now, here are everyone's yummy recipes for the day!

What you missed earlier this #ChristmasSweetsWeek: Vegan Hot Chocolate Layer Cake
vanilla & spice hot mulled wine
Ingredients
- 2 bottles strong red wine
- 2 oranges sliced
- 2 apples sliced
- ½ cup Torani vanilla syrup
- 2 cups apple juice
- 4-5 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 4-5 star anise
- 2 tablespoon ground ginger {or handful of fresh ginger pieces}
- ½ tablespoon pink peppercorns
- optional: rum brandy, or orange liqueur for serving
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the wine, sliced fruit, Torani vanilla syrup, apple juice, and spices.
- Bring mixture to a boil, then lower to a simmer, cover, and allow to cook for 30-35 minutes to infuse the wine.
- When ready to serve, strain mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove all spice pieces.
- Pour mulled wine into cups, and enjoy warm!
- Note: a lot of the alcohol does evaporate out during cooking, so you can top glasses off with some brandy, rum, or orange liqueur to serve!
