Hello, friends! I am so excited to be sharing this adorable and delicious cookie recipe for the holidays with you today. These little Christmas tree cookies are made with a simple butter cookie dough {made green thanks to Jell-O Pistachio Pudding Mix} and drizzled with both white and semi-sweet Baker's chocolate for a rich treat. They are then topped with little round sprinkles to look like Christmas ornaments! And bonus, they are incredibly simple and totally budget-friendly. Let's get to work!
These sweet cookies take just a handful of ingredients, most of which can be conveniently found at your local Walmart's seasonal Bake Center! These special displays are awesome, because they have all sorts of baking goodies in one place. We just need Jell-O pistachio pudding mix and some Baker's chocolate today, but you can also find marshmallows, shredded coconut, caramel bits, and tons of other fun Kraft stuff perfect for holiday baking!
As much as I love Christmas and holiday cookies, I have to admit that I am just not patient enough for cut-out cookies most of the time... which is why these cookies don't even require cookie cutters. Just grab a pizza cutter, and cut out some tall and skinny triangles! So easy, so fast, and you're not wasting nearly as much time kneading and re-kneading dough scraps. These cookies are perfect for busy moms during the crazy holidays.
I'm gonna share a little baking hack with y'all today! Want to know the secret to a neat, perfect chocolate drizzle like mine? It's not a fork, and it's not a spoon... it's a zip-top baggie! That's right. All you have to do is melt down your Baker's chocolate, pour it into a zip-top bag, snip a tiny hole in the corner, and drizzle away! This tip is perfect for these cookies, but I guarantee you'll be revisiting this hack over and over this holiday season!

cut-out christmas tree cookies
Ingredients
- one 3.5oz package Jell-O instant pistachio pudding mix
- ½ cup {1 stick} unsalted butter at room temp
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 2-3 tablespoon heavy cream
- *for decorating*
- Baker's white chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate
- round sprinkles
Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter, sugar, and Jell-O pudding mix until light and fluffy. Add in the egg.
- Beat in the flour and baking soda until a crumbly dough forms. Drizzle in the heavy cream until the mixture becomes soft and stays together easily.
- Place the dough on some plastic wrap, pat into a circle, wrap tightly, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350F.
- Flour your work surface well, place the dough on top, and using a floured rolling pin, create a rough rectangular shape of ⅛" thickness.
- Using a pizza cutter, trim the uneven edges and proceed to cut triangles out of the dough.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment, and chill for 10 minutes before baking.
- Transfer directly from fridge to oven, and bake 10-12 minutes, until the cookies appear dry but not too browned. Let cookies cool slightly before decorating.
- When ready to decorate, melt the Baker's white chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate in separate microwave-safe containers in 30 second intervals until smooth.
- Transfer each type of chocolate to a separate zip-top container, snip the corner, and drizzle the cookies as desired. Top with sprinkles, and enjoy!

I needed your baking hack yesterday. I hastily tried to drizzle cookies with a spoon, and I wasn't quite happy with the result! [client]
