Happy Wednesday! My apologies for being gone all last week, I was in the Caribbean for Spring Break getting the tan of a lifetime. I went on a cruise so, no internet or phone service or any technology really... while I'd love to be all like, "Wow, yeah, it changed my life and now I don't need technology in my life anymore," that would be a total lie. Hah! I will admit that it was nice, but as a blogger, I'm used to being constantly connected to my blog and my readers in 16 different ways. Take that away, and I'm a stressed mess! But now I'm back to civilization. And the weather back home is actually nice and warm and feels like SPRING! This calls for a spring craft.
This beautiful wreath is easy, inexpensive, quick to make, and it's totally customizable! You need 3-4 basic elements, depending on what you want the final product to look like...
1 intertwined twig wreath {you can find it at Hobby Lobby and Walmart for about $5}
Assortment of plastic flowers {I did 3 large flowers, 4 medium flowers, and 2 bunches of tiny flowers to tuck into small spots}
Ribbon or burlap for a bow, plus a skinny ribbon to make a hanging loop
Hot glue
That's it! So let's get started.
1. Cut or remove all the stems from the flowers. Some flowers easily pop off, others need to be cut because they're glued on! I suggest leaving a couple inches of stem attached for easier arrangement.
2. Start placing flowers in the wreath, placing the largest flowers first, then filling in the gaps with the smaller flowers. Feel free to add leaves, too!
3. Once you find the perfect arrangement, use hot glue to secure the flowers in place. If your stems are long enough, intertwining them into the wreath before gluing them down helps keep them in place a little better.
4. Choose where you want the top of the wreath to be, and add a bow if desired. I just made a simple rustic bow with white burlap! Secure this with hot glue as well.
5. To make a loop for hanging, use a small bit of metal wiring or a narrow ribbon, and loop it around the back of the bow and into the twigs of the wreath. Make sure it's big enough to fit a wreath hook, but small enough that it doesn't stick out the top of the bow.
6. And... you're all done! Place inside or outside, wherever your heart desires. Enjoy! 🙂
